A two hour walk back from Winscombe to Cheddar along the old Strawberry Line railway path. Imagine the views you would have seen from the window of a steam train. Take the bus from Cheddar to begin the walk at the old Winscombe Station and follow the old trackbed through Shute Shelve tunnel. From there continue on through the centre of Axbridge – perhaps for a pub or café refreshment stop – and back on the railway path, returning to the bus stop in Cheddar that you started from.
An easy, mostly level walk through some lovely countryside, also popular with cyclists.
Please note there are currently some diversions on the path between Winscombe and Cheddar, caused by Bristol Water works.
